Nathalie Decoster often works by themes to “structure her research, to immerse herself deeply in the subject that interests her, to develop her reflections on her philosophical subjects concerning the human condition that demand in-depth thought both concerning the content and its representation.
Nevertheless, she sometimes produces sculptures that she defines as “impulses,” spontaneous sculptures that she takes pleasure in creating without much thought, “as if they were a given” she says.
Ideas come to her when she is in a state of “semi-consciousness” and thoughtlessness. Then it’s an indescribable pleasure and often a surprising result for the artist herself
